First 1,000 supporters from each U.S. state who give $100 or more will be designated as Founding Donors.

Donated funds support a non-partisan organization that is singularly focused on:

• Operating a disciplined, single-issue advocacy effort aimed at ending shutdown pay for Members of Congress, with the ultimate goal of securing a constitutional amendment to permanently align Congress with the consequences of government shutdowns;

• Advancing reforms through federal legislation and other effective pathways that create immediate accountability while building momentum toward constitutional change; and

• Securing public pledges from Members of Congress and candidates to forgo shutdown pay, or to donate any salary received during a shutdown to qualified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations that benefit their constituents.

In order to propose a Constitutional amendment, the House of Representatives and the Senate must approve the amendment by a two-thirds vote OR Congress must receive applications from two-thirds (34) of state legislatures in support of a single amendment. Any amendment must then be ratified by three-fourths (38) of the 50 states, requiring broad, bipartisan national support in order to become law of the land.
